Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 5 Recap
With Gojo Satoru now mastering how to use cursed energy, he’s sent on more solo missions, as is Getou. Getou falls into depression, constantly repeating missions and doubting his belief in protecting non-sorcerers. He begins to develop hate for them but is trying to suppress those feelings.
He meets Yuki Tsukumo, a special grade sorcerer who’s trying to prevent curses from ever manifesting. She gives him advice about his true feelings and tells him he must decide whether to hate non-sorcerers or protect them. He becomes even more confused about his true feelings when his close friend Yuki Haibara is killed in a mission gone wrong. He laments the fact that being a sorcerer means you’d have to see many of your colleagues die in the line of duty.
His feelings become clear when he’s sent to the countryside on a mission to exorcise a curse. He finds that the residents have locked up two children who could use cursed energy and blamed the village’s problems on them. He is beyond disgusted and angry, and he massacres the residents, killing 112 of them and his parents. After that, he decides he wants to protect sorcerers only, and the only way to do that is to kill all non-sorcerers and forever eliminate the possibility of curses manifesting.
Gojo confronts his best friend, and Getou tells him about his plans. He can’t bring himself to kill him, and so Getou proceeds to take over the Star Religious Group and start preparing for his plans. Gojo takes young Megumi under his wing before the Ze’nin Clan could.
As the recap winds down, the spotlight shifts back to the present, providing a tantalizing glimpse of familiar faces – Itadori, Megumi, Nobara, and Gojo – as the narrative weaves its web of suspense, hinting at the electrifying events that lie ahead.
