The anime will be adapted from the manga “16-bit Sensation: The Bishojo Game Made by All of You and I,” which was conceptualized by Misato Mitsumi, Tatsuki Amazuyu, and Tamiki Wakaki, and illustrated by Wakaki.
The manga is based on the authors’ real-life experiences at AQUAPLUS. Upon its release, the manga was acclaimed for its portrayal of the life of a college girl as an adult graphic artist in the ’90s and its perfectly executed gags.
16-bit Sensation: Another Layer Anime Release Date
On August 7, 2023, the official website and Twitter account confirmed that ’16-bit Sensation: Another Layer’ will premiere in October 2023.
Two new visuals were unveiled, both featuring the main character Konoha Akisato in Akihabara, Japan. One visual is in the usual anime style, while the other visual is in a 16-bit pixelated style.

A Glimpse into the Plot
Set to span six episodes, “16-bit Sensation: Another Layer” will weave an original story centered around Konoha Akisato.
In the manga, Meiko Uehara, a college student, begins working part-time at a PC shop in 1992. However, this shop is a front for its true business: an adult game developer for bishjo games.
Meiko ends up as a sub-graphic artist due to the unexpected departure of the crew, even though she has never created adult artwork before. Her career as a designer begins when she attempts to create an erotic game that is free of glitches.
