The anime series, based on the light novel series written by Yuri Kitayama, has been a fan favorite since the first season debuted 1 and a half years ago. The light novel series is still ongoing with 22 volumes and an ongoing manga series with 8 volumes. The first season of the anime adaptation covered only the first 5 volumes of the light novel, leaving plenty of source material for a second season.

On the official website for the anime, fans were treated to a special video looking back on the first season’s most iconic scenes and the final episode, which concluded with a reunion between the main characters, Rio and Miharu, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the sequel.
The character designer, Kyoko Yufu, also shared a congratulatory illustration, and comments from the original author, director, character designer, and cast were also shared.
