Spy x family first debuted on April 9, 2022. It is adapted from the manga of same name written by Tatsuya Endo. On December 18,2022 at the Jump Festa 2023 event, it was announced that Spy x family will get a second season as well as an original movie which were scheduled to be released in 2023.
In the official twitter account of Spy x Family, a tweet was posted on 18 December, 2022. The tweet roughly translates that, “Decision of season 2 broadcast and a movie production”. The tweet also stated the author of the manga, Tatsuya Endo will be in the charge of supervision, draft and character design. In addition a commemorative visual, drawn by Endo himself was included as well.

In the visual it can be seen that the Forger family is on a children’s propeller plane wearing winter clothes. So we can assume it will take place in the Winters. We can also see Anya saying ‘Eigakan ni odekeke!!’ in a dialogue box which translates as ‘Go out to the movie theatre!!’. There will also be new characters as the tweet mentioned. As for the second season, it will most probably continue to adapt the Imperial Scholars Mixer arc and then it will adapt the Great Cruise Adventure arc back to back.
