Adapted by Studio Orange, Trigun Stampede is a refurbished take on Yasuhiro Nightow’s manga Trigun, which was first adapted by Satoshi Nishimura in 1998. Before its release, Trigun Stampede was slightly criticized for Vash’s new look and the use of CGI. However, all doubts were removed when the anime was finally aired. Studio Orange managed to blend their distinguished 3D animation style superbly with the visual aesthetics of the 1998 adaptation. It is safe to say that Trigun Stampede is one of the most exquisite premieres of winter 2023.
TRIGUN STAMPEDE Season 2 Announced
As for Trigun Stampede Season 2, shortly after the premiere of episode 12 on March 25th, Studio Orange announced on Twitter that they intend to bring another season of Trigun Stampede. In the published thread, they thanked the fans for joining them on the journey of Vash and his gang. They also stated that they will be working behind the scenes until the curtain rises on the second season.
The second season of Trigun Stampede is announced as the “final phase.” On March 25th, the Twitter account of Trigun Stampede made a tweet about the second season of the series, saying “Final Phase coming soon!” Continuing from the first season, Studio Orange will produce Trigun Stampede Season 2. However, it is not yet confirmed if Kenji Muto, the director of the first season, will return to direct the next season as well.
TRIGUN STAMPEDE Season 2 Release Date
As for the release date, Studio Orange did not share any specific date for when Trigun Stampede Season 2 will be released. It is likely that it will be released after the conclusion of Studio Orange’s other project, Beastars Season 3, which will premiere in 2024. So it is safe to assume that fans may have to wait at least a year to get Trigun Stampede Season 2.
While Trigun Stampede is a spiritual successor to the 1998 Trigun rather than being a one-to-one adaptation of Yasuhiro Nightow’s Trigun from 1995, with slight revamps of some characters and the plot set during an earlier point than either the manga or 1998 anime. Considering the climax of the first season, it is highly assumable that the second season will feature events and characters seen in Trigun Maximum, which was the direct continuation of Nightow’s Trigun and followed after episode 17 of the 1998 anime.
