Currently this anime came into spotlight after it was released on Netflix and the demand for a new season has spiked since then. Seraph of The End was first aired in 2015 based on Takaya Kagami’s manga Seraph of the end which follows the story of Yuichiro Hyakuya, a boy living in the world of vampires and demons and a few remaining humans. He swore to avenge the deaths of his family who were massacred in the hands of vampire and joins an elite vampire-slaying unit in the process. Although the first season was quite generic as many people found it similar to Attack on Titan season 1, not to mention that both Seraph of the end and Attack on titan was produced by Wit Studio. But it was no doubt that the second season of the anime had exceeded the first one.
From great twist and action to heinous scheme, the second season ended in cliff-hanger leaving fans in demand of a new season. However, there is no official announcement till now for a new season of Seraph of the end.
Seraph of the End Season 3 Manga: Is There Enough Source Material Available?
One possible reason is that both season 1 and 2 had adapted almost all of the manga chapters back in 2015. So, it was out of question for a third season back then due to lack of source material. Fortunately, the manga is still running and at this moment Takaya Kagami has finished over 65 new chapters till September 3, 2022. So, it is actually possible for Wit Studio to go into production. Considering the new season will pick from where season 2 had ended, we might see the high ranked vampires coming to Japan for a fight and reclaim their authority.
Seraph of the End Season 3 Rumours
One more interesting news is that a few days ago, a post appeared on Twitter and Reddit with a gif of Seraph of the End. The author of the tweet is known for giving a hints of upcoming anime series or movies prior to official announcement. However, his tweets were taken as false news for several times, fans are still hoping for a third season.
As popularity plays a huge factor in production of a new season, in 2021 when Seraph of the End was streamed on Netflix, the popularity spiked but it was declining slowly as no new season was available then, but it is the high time for Wit Studio to finally consider about making a new season.
