The highly anticipated second season of the acclaimed anime series, The Eminence in Shadow, will have its first episode screened in advance during the convention. The event will mark a historic moment as it features the first-ever dual world premiere, with separate screenings of both the subtitled and dubbed versions of Episode 1.
On July 1, fans attending Anime Expo will have the opportunity to watch the subtitled premiere, followed by a Q&A session featuring Seiichiro Yamashita, the Japanese voice actor for the character Cid/Shadow.
On July 4, the dubbed premiere will take place, with voice actors Adam Gibbs (Cid/Shadow) and Christina Kelly (Alpha) participating in the Q&A session. The screenings and discussions are expected to provide valuable insights and engage fans in a deeper understanding of the series.
The Eminence in Shadow, based on a popular Japanese light novel series written by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by Tōzai, gained considerable attention during its first season, which aired in 2022.
Produced by studio Nexus, the initial season comprised 20 episodes and garnered a dedicated following. The second season, set to air in October 2023, will also be produced by Nexus, ensuring continuity and consistency in the anime’s visual style and storytelling.
