Fans are delighted to see Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro returning with a new season naming Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro 2nd attack. Made by studio OLM, it will be released on 7 January, 2023, following more of sweet relationship of Naoto and Nagatoro.

At number 7, we have BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense season 2. After some delay, BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense is finally returning with its second season on 11 January, 2023. Made by studio SILVER LINK, this season will follow more of Kaeda’s isekai adventure in the virtual world. It will have 12 episodes in total.
6. Tokyo Revengers Season 2
Next at number 6, we have Tokyo Revengers season 2. When first aired, Tokyo revengers managed to build a huge anticipation for the next season but due to the controversy of the manga ending and the replacement of Draken’s voice actor, the hype began to slow down. Still it has managed to be on the list of anticipated anime of winter 2023. Releasing on 7 January, 2023, studio LIDENFILMS will adapt the Christmas showdown arc of the series.
5. The Misfit of the Demon King Academy Season 2
At number 5, we have Misfit of the Demon King Academy II. On 7 January, 2023, The Misfit of Demon king Academy season 2 will be released. Made by studio SILVER LINK, we will get to see more of the overpowered Anos Voldigoad. However, the voice actor of Anos won’t be able to reprise his role in the new season.

At number 4, we have Bungo Stray Dogs season 4. On 4 January, 2023, we will get return of another favourite anime, Bungo stray dogs. Made by studio Bones, fans are thrilled to see Osamu Dazai after nearly two years. The fact that Light Yagami’s voice actor Mamoru Miyano will reprise his role as Osamu is enough to keep Bungou Stray Dogs on the list of anticipated anime.
3. Trigun Stampede
Now at number 3, we have Trigun Stampede. Although it left the fans divided with the design of the protagonist Vash and the art and animation style, fans are unitedly eager to see the prequel of a cult classic. It is created by Studio Orange who were popular for “Land of the Lustrous” and it’s animation style. The anime will be released on 7 January, 2023.
2. NieR: Automata Ver1.1a
Next at number 2, we have NieR Automata: ver1.1a. It is an adaptation of the popular video game NieR: Automata. If you are into video games, you should already know about this masterpiece of Yoko Taro which tells the ultimate story of humanity. So, it would be no surprise to see it on the list of most anticipated anime of winter 2023. It will be released on 7 January 2023, streaming on Crunchyroll, Hulu and Amazon prime. The anime is being produced by A-1 Pictures.
1. Vinland Saga Season 2.
Finally at number 1, we have Vinland Saga season 2. The first season was a huge hit with a cliff-hanger in the last episode. Being one of a kind, this anime gained cult and without a doubt it is the most anticipated anime of winter 2023. Created by Studio Mappa, it will be released on 9 January 2023. The second season will follow from where season 1 ended. It will have 24 episodes streaming on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
