It was Obito’s dream to become Hokage, but he lost his way when Rin, his lover, was murdered. He instigated the 4th Great Ninja War in order to change the world.
Despite his actions, Obito had a pure heart, and he was the closest comparison to Naruto. In the end, he became one of the good guys and tipped the tide of the war. If only he hadn’t lost his way, he might have become the Hokage.
4. Might Guy
Acknowledged as the best taijutsu user by Madara, Might is one of the strongest Shinobi despite not having the ability to use Ninjutsu or Genjutsu. He has the strength of a Hokage, especially when he is in his 8 Gates form, but more than that, he is someone that kids in the Hidden Village can look up to. He is a great role model and is the true definition of “hard work beats talent.”
3. Sasuke Uchiha
Unofficially known as the Second Hokage together with Naruto, Sasuke is the protector of the Hidden Leaf village, preventing and investigating threats before they materialize.
His work for the village is critical in maintaining peace as he sacrifices time with his family to protect the village. Possessing both the strength of a Hokage and the charisma to be well-liked by the residents.
2. Jiraiya
Known as one of the Legendary Sannin, Jiraiya was the top candidate to become Hokage when Hiruzen died. However, he declined and passed it on to Tsunade.
His efforts in the 3rd Great Ninja War catapulted him to fame, and even more importantly, he was both the master of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, and the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. So it’s no exaggeration when it’s said that Jiraiya had a massive effect on the history of the Hidden Leaf Village.
1. Itachi Uchiha
And in the number one spot is one of the fan favorites, Itachi Uchiha. Although he is seen as the villain who massacred the Uchiha Clan, he is one of the heroes who sacrificed everything for the peace of the village: his reputation, his family, and his dreams.
He is one of the strongest Uchihas, and he was one of the key fighters in the 4th Great Ninja War, saving the lives of thousands. There are very few deserving the Hokage title more than Itachi.
Honourable Mention: Madara Uchiha
The man who’s name put fear in Shinobi, there are very few who are as strong as Madara. He took on an army by himself and came out on too many times before eventually losing. As a Hokage, residents couldn’t feel any more safer knowing the strength that Madara wields. The only reason he isn’t further up the list is because of his corrupt nature and villainous nature although he was a kind hearted man at first.
